What's up - Alaïa e Balenciaga. Sculptors of Shape

Published on Sept. 22, 2025

To mark its 50th anniversary, the Textile Museum celebrates two iconic French fashion designers—Azzedine Alaïa and Cristobal Balenciaga—with an exhibition curated by Olivier Saillard in collaboration with the Azzedine Alaïa Foundation. The exhibition, on display in Italy for the first time, was conceived by Olivier Saillard in 2020 at the Fondation Alaïa in Paris to fulfill Hubert de Givenchy's desire to reunite the two historic talents of French haute couture.

Fifty garments from the Azzedine Alaïa Foundation will be exhibited in the evocative rooms of the former Campolmi factory, accompanied by original documents and videos from the Balenciaga Archives, showcasing the creativity of the two designers.
