Prato hosts the most evocative Chinese New Year in Italy!
A 2026 marked by the Fire Horse awaits all those who wish to discover the "secret" behind the success of one of Tuscany's most popular and well-known events: Prato's Chinese New Year, a symbol of a Tuscany you might not expect, but that nevertheless surprises. 2026 thus marks the beginning of the Year of the Fire Horse, and Prato is ready to welcome tourists and residents, offering an unforgettable show through the streets of its historic centre and neighborhoods.
At p.m. on Monday, 16th February, the sound of the bell at the Pu Hua Buddhist temple will mark the start of the 2026 Chinese New Year, perfectly aligning with Beijing's midnight: according to the Chinese lunar calendar, we enter the Year of the Fire Horse, a symbol of energy, passion, and courage, movement and change, which drives new projects and important choices. The traditional and eagerly awaited Dragon Parades and Lion Dance are scheduled for Saturday, 21st February and Sunday, 22nd February.
